Zeal ME Values: Integrity
One of the best marketing books of the last decade is Seth Godin's All Marketers Are Liars.
The title is tongue in cheek. Sadly ... it's also true in too many instances.
I have been approached by a business that wanted to build a bait-and-switch social media campaign. Another was interested in a big money on-line contest in which nobody could reasonably win. One of my Zeal ME colleagues was asked to doctor a video for YouTube to make it appear a business sponsored an event that they did not.
Integrity is a core Zeal ME value.
Without integrity, we're just a group of marketing hacks ala AMC's Mad Men.
The 140 Character World is a transparent one. Ponzie schemes and bank bailouts are part of the national conversation. Businesses that are looking to build misleading marketing campaigns will be exposed for what they are: con-artists.
The Godin book is about superior storytelling. So is my firm.
